What is OKLAB color code?
The OKLAB color space is a perceptual color space designed by Björn Ottosson in 2020. It serves as a modern improvement over the traditional CIELAB space, aiming to be simple to use while correcting flaws in LAB's perceptual uniformity, especially in the handling of blue hues which can appear purple in LAB. OKLAB uses three coordinates: 'L' for perceived lightness, 'a' for green-red, and 'b' for blue-yellow. Its superior perceptual accuracy makes it excellent for tasks like color blending, gradient generation, and image processing.
What is HSVA color code?
HSVA color code, an extension of the HSV color model, introduces an Alpha channel, resulting in Hue, Saturation, Value, and Alpha.
- Hue: Defines the color type with values from 0 to 360 degrees.
- Saturation: Indicates color intensity, ranging from 0% (grayscale) to 100% (fully saturated).
- Value: Determines brightness, with 0% as black and 100% as the fully lit color.
- Alpha: Controls transparency, varying from 0 (completely transparent) to 1 (fully opaque).
HSVA color codes are valuable in web design, graphic design, and digital art, enabling precise specification of colors with varying levels of transparency. This extension enhances control over the visual aspects and layering of elements in digital creations.
