What is HSV color code?
HSV color code, which stands for Hue, Saturation, Value, is a color representation system widely used in digital design and computing. Unlike HEX, which focuses on the primary colors of red, green, and blue, HSV considers different aspects of color:
- Hue: Represents the type of color, ranging from 0 to 360 degrees around the color wheel.
- Saturation: Measures the intensity or purity of the color, with 0% being grayscale and 100% being fully saturated.
- Value: Specifies the brightness of the color, with 0% being black and 100% being the fully lit color.
HSV color codes offer an intuitive way to work with colors, making it easier for designers to adjust hue, saturation, and brightness to achieve their desired visual effects in various digital design applications, including web design and graphic design.
What is XYZ color code?
The XYZ color space, established by the CIE (International Commission on Illumination) in 1931, is the foundational model for all modern color management systems. It mathematically defines the relationship between the physical wavelengths of light and human color vision. In this model, 'Y' corresponds to luminance (brightness), while 'X' and 'Z' serve as virtual components to describe chromaticity. Because it encompasses all colors visible to the human eye, XYZ serves as the standard reference space for converting colors between different devices and color spaces.
